Clearview intelligence - easy to use and no need to build a data warehouse

Background

Victory Housing Trust is a registered charity and registered provider of affordable homes for those in housing need. The organisation owns and manages nearly 5,000 properties located across the north of Norfolk, which serve as homes to over 10,000 residents, as well as properties in the local authority areas of Broadland, Kings Lynn & West Norfolk and Great Yarmouth.

Victory Housing Trust employs 85 people and has an annual turnover of over £17m. The organisation became a Clearview customer in July 2007. They currently use a number of Clearview products including Planning and Risk.

The challenge

Victory Housing Trust had a process in place for business intelligence and reporting but recognised that it was not fully meeting their business requirements.

Kate Dulieu, Business Support Manager for Victory Housing Trust, explains:

“Prior to implementing Clearview Intelligence, we used SAP Business Objects for information management and business intelligence but it did not cover all areas of data storage. We had a number of disparate reporting systems and were considering data warehousing. However as soon as our Executive Team saw Clearview Intelligence, we knew it was the right system for our business intelligence needs. Plus we already had a close working relationship with Clearview and knew we would get the support and expertise we needed to achieve a successful implementation”

Kate continues:

“Clearview Intelligence is more cost effective and far less complex than using SAP Business Objects or data warehousing. It enables us to quickly and efficiently pull together data from a range of sources, including our housing management (Orchard), assets management (Keystone), resident involvement (TP Tracker), customer contact (Serengeti Systems), finance (Open Accounts), HR and payroll systems (Chris21).”

“Another big advantage is that Clearview Intelligence is a very intuitive system that does not require specific technical knowledge. There are only two people in Victory Housing Trust who can use SAP Business Objects, whereas Clearview Intelligence has enabled us to open up business intelligence and reporting to the whole organisation because it is so easy to use.”

The solution – Clearview Intelligence

Clearview Intelligence is a next generation, web-browser based business intelligence tool. It uses intuitive search engine technology to link multiple data sources across your organisation, giving you a complete picture of your business performance. Benefits include:

Business improvement – gain invaluable process and customer insight, identify improvements and efficiencies, apply a consistent approach to business intelligence, transform your service delivery

Empower users – embed a managed self-service business intelligence culture, make reporting available to anyone in the organisation

Ad hoc and scheduled reporting – carry out analysis across multiple datasets, produce accurate and informative reports on demand

Powerful graphics – view unique, dynamic dashboards of your data at a glance, click to drill down into the detail

Simple deployment, rapid installation – run as a bolt–on to your existing technical infrastructure, minimal time to configure, add new data sources in minutes

Outcomes

Victory Housing Trust began using Clearview Intelligence in January 2012. Kate Dulieu has already identified a number of improvements and benefits to the organisation.

“Clearview Intelligence does exactly what it says on the tin. We found it quick to install and were provided with a populated test environment for training purposes, which was very useful. The support from Clearview was excellent. After just eight days of on-site training, we had a series of reports set-up for staff to use. Non-technical staff are now able to run their own reports, which can be shared with colleagues through Clearview rather than clogging up our email system.”

Kate continues:

“We have already been able to spot data that is incorrect and needs cleansing. We also now have the ability to report on data which was not previously visible or easily available to us. For example, we have used Clearview Intelligence to analyse customer contact data to identify and resolve performance issues and gain a clear overview of the number and type of properties we own and manage. It’s also a great resourcing tool for pinpointing peaks and troughs in demand. Clearview Intelligence works across all of our data sources and has smartened our corporate approach to business intelligence. I really didn’t believe it could be that easy.”
